Genuss Region: Back to the roots

At the behest of the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism, AMA-Marketing took over the management of the Genuss Region Österreich brand as of 1 August 2019.

Our farmers supply safe, healthy and non-GMO food of the highest quality. Consumers cherish sustainable production. A growing number of people check out the origin of food and actively go for regional and seasonal products.

With a view to specifically encouraging the trend towards regional food, the dynamics of Austria's many culinary initiatives are being bundled and piloted into a common direction.

New culinary strategy

In 2004, the Genuss Region Österreich initiative was jointly launched by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management and AMA-Marketing. The brand had soon become established as a badge for authentic, regional as well as diverse products, short transport routes and sustainability in production. The initiative will be further expanded within the scope of the new Culinary Strategy Austria.

New contact point

At the behest of the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism, AMA-Marketing took over the management of the Genuss Region Österreich brand as of 1 August 2019. For this purpose, the contracts with the Verein Genuss Region Österreich association (umbrella organisation) and with GenussRegionen Marketing GmbH (GRM) were terminated. This move does not affect ongoing user agreements: licensees continue to be able to use the brand within the scope of the contracts previously concluded. However, only AMA-Marketing may now handle new project applications submitted by Regions of Delight and enquiries regarding user agreements.
